The Electrolysis
Clinic was started in 1978 by Brenda
Castonguay. Dorothy Guitard joined
the business in 1984 and a partnership
between the two sisters was created.
The business was located on Notre Dame
Ave in Sudbury, Ontario for over 15
years. In 1998, the clinic was relocated
to 1930 Melbourne Street, to better
serve their clientelle. The new facility
provides more privacy and easier accessibility.

Throughout the years,
Brenda and Dorothy have provided opportunities
to local students for co-op placements.
They have donated time and sponsored
various charitable and non-profit
organizations through special events
and fundraising.

Brenda and Dorothy
are both members of the
Canadian Organization of Professional
Electrologists (C.O.P.E.). In 1997
they belonged to the Business and Professional
Women’s
Club and won the “Entrepreneur Award
for Partnership”. They work long and
hard hours to accommodate their clientelle
and still find time to upgrade their
education and equipment so they can
serve their clients with the latest
knowledge and technology their clients
deserve.

The Electrolysis
Clinic has supplied quality and safe
personal service to the residents
of Sudbury Ontario and the surrounding
area for over 30 years. Including friendly
service while still providing personal
privacy and confidentiality for their
clients protection.
Brenda and Dorothy both have three years experience working in a dermatologist's office. This helped them to understand the causes of hair growth and hormonal problems in a medical setting. |

Upon completing
her training at Electrolysis Educational
Institute of Toronto in 1978, Brenda
opened the Electrolysis Clinic in
Sudbury Ontario. She went on to write
certification exams, earning the designation
Certified Professional Electrologist
(C.P.E.) and Certified Clinical Electrologist
(C.C.E.).
She also wrote the American CPE in San Antonio, Texas in 1992. |

Brenda was an Executive
Director for C.O.P.E. National from
1995 to 2000 as First Vice President
and Second Vice President. In these
positions she was responsible for marketing
all C.O.P.E. National products which
are sent all over Canada. She was a
C.O.P.E. National By Law Chairperson,
responsible for implementing all amendments
according to C.O.P.E. National’s By
Laws.

Over the years,
she has trained over 30 women in Electrolysis,
contributed to the growth and expansion
of the profession in Sudbury Ontario.
She has also helped to develop and
initiate strategies to educate public
on safe Electrolysis.

Dorothy graduated
from Business and Commerce at Sheridan
Technical. Upon graduation from Ecole
d’Esthetique in 1984 as an Esthetician,
she began working at the Electrolysis
Clinic. In 1986 she completed training
in Electrolysis and Electrocoagulation
at the Electrolysis Institute of Toronto.

She later purchased
half of the business and now co-owns
it with her sister Brenda. In 1996,
she became a Certified Clinical Electrologist.
|

|

She enjoyed her
time with the Business and Professional
Women’s Club (B.P.W.) and
her work with the International Committee.
She continues to enjoy working with
Canadian Organization of Professional
Electrologists (C.O.P.E.) which keeps
her up-to-date on the latest developments
in the Electrolysis field.
She also upgrades regularly with Dr. Renaud for the latest products for her facial treatments. |
